Hello!

I'm Megan. And I’m the kind of person who, when I find something that’s both functional and stylishly versatile, will hold on tight and never let go (even when I probably should). I still have my first pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans from college and the gray North Face zip-up that I wore nearly every day my senior year in high school. How is this relevant, you ask? Well, I also used the same black hobo handbag for 14 years, and try as I might, bag unraveling at the seams, I was never able to find a worthy replacement (though my closet shelf will certainly indicate that I tried. And tried).
When a friend suggested I take a leatherworking class, I was intrigued. I’ve always been a crafter but had never explored leather. The class was taught by Portland, Oregon leathercrafter, Lori Caldwell, at Oregon Leather Company, and I was hooked after the first stitch. We made tote bags in the class, but I learned just enough to get started on creating the bag that would finally be worthy of replacing my tried and true hobo. I quickly fell in love with the processfrom dreaming up the design and choosing the leather, to punching the stitching holes and tying off the last saddle stitch.
The OG Collection Crossbody is the result of creating precisely what I wanted and needed in a handbag. It was my first-ever design and I’ve worn it daily for the last year and a half. The crossbody has also inspired many of the other bags.
When it comes to design, I crave clean lines, simplicity, and function, and being able to meld these concepts into a product I love is what drives me. I've been passionate about designing and creating for as long as I can remember and though I’ve had many career lives, I am consistently drawn back to the process of crafting beautiful things with my hands. There is little as rewarding as finishing a project that at once meets a need or desire and is equally wonderful to touch, feel and wear.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to develop and create and inspire. It's such a pleasure to share my passion with you.

    Big Thanks!
A special thank you to the following women who lovingly contributed their time, skills and beauty to FLYN Design to help me get this site launched. They are spectacular humans who I am so lucky to call friends.
